The business sector created a labor and safety commission

A labor and health safety commission has been created in the business union "Georgia Employers Association", whose members are labor safety managers employed in the business sector. The purpose of the commission is to: v organize systematic work meetings, define an action plan v Studying the requirements of companies in the field of safety v Creating an information link on labor safety v Visits to successful companies in the field of labor safety to share experience v Inviting relevant ministries and agencies to work meetings v Reviewing legislative initiatives (projects) and providing recommendations to the Social Dialogue Commission in order to take into account business interests as much as possible. On December 12, under the organization of the Association of Employers of Georgia, a meeting of the members of the aforementioned commission was held with the head of the Department of Labor and Employment of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection of Georgia Ms. Elsa Jgerenaia. As is known, the Department of Inspection of Labor Conditions was established in the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Protection, a draft law on labor and health safety is prepared, regulations corresponding to European directives and relevant normative acts are being prepared. The purpose of the mentioned meeting was to discuss these structural and expected legislative initiatives, which should be implemented by the state in the near future. At the working meeting, the business sector expressed some remarks about the inconsistency of the existing normative base and the parallelism of the functions of various agencies, which puts an excessive burden on the business. At the end of the meeting, an opinion was expressed that such meetings should continue in the future, which will be beneficial for both parties. The Association of Georgian Employers, as a member of the tripartite social dialogue business union, has the role of mediator between the energy sector and the state, in order to implement the process of mutual cooperation as efficiently as possible.
