GEA member and partner companies met with the Minister of Finance

Business union "Georgian Employers Association" (GEA) member and partner companies met with the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dimitri Kumsishvili. At the meeting, the current and planned reforms of the government were discussed, as well as legislative innovations, which are expected to be adopted within the framework of the reforms. Dimitri Kumsishvili gave a presentation to the business sector on the main aspects of the impact of fiscal policy and the current situation of the Georgian economy and its potential consideration from the point of view of macro economy. During the presentation, which lasted more than 2 hours, Dimitri Kumsishvili focused special attention on the 4-point plan of government reforms and its individual directions. According to him, the government has been preparing for the reform of the profit tax for a long time. According to the information of the First Vice Prime Minister, as a result of the said reform, the economy of Georgia will grow by an additional 1-1.5 percent in the medium term. Dimitri Kumsishvili also spoke about large-scale infrastructure projects, the implementation of which will bring significant economic progress to Georgia and its individual regions. Dimitri Kumsishvili named the creation of a business house, which will work on the principle of "one window" and provide all necessary services to representatives of the business sphere, as another important decision of the government. The representatives of the business sector, a member of the Employers' Association, spoke in dialogue mode about the problems that exist in the economic environment of Georgia. One of the fundamental objectives of the existence of the association is to provide a mode of dialogue between the government and the business sector. Thus, "Georgian Employers' Association" promotes the strengthening of communication between the business sector and the government through similar meetings.
