Vocational education and training project in Khoni

Within the framework of the vocational education and training project organized by the Association of Georgian Employers, the students of Khoni school took part in various activities in order to increase their interest and awareness in vocational education. In order to get to know specific professions better and to activate cooperation between educational institutions and the business sector, the students visited furniture factories, a restaurant, a clinic and the state public service. Within the framework of the visit, students had the opportunity to receive competent information about the characteristics and content of specific professions from professionals at the workplace. Also, the students had the opportunity to be representatives of this or that profession at the workplace for one day. Within the framework of the events, the Mayor of Khoni, Lado Jurkhadze, spoke to the students about the perspectives, importance and need of professional education. In addition, in order to increase the motivation of students towards professional education, meetings were organized with successful businessmen of the region, who shared their success stories. The vocational education and training project, which has been ongoing in Georgia since 2016 with the support of the German government, aims to activate cooperation between the business sector and vocational schools in Tbilisi and the regions in order to regulate the balance between demand and supply in the labor market.
