Employers' Association is starting intensive training of labor safety specialists

In response to one of the most urgent challenges for the private sector at this stage, the Business Union - Georgian Employers' Association will intensively implement a training program for labor safety specialists. "The Association of Employers of Georgia, as a defender of business interests and a partner of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Georgia, is constantly trying to offer its members and partner companies services that will allow companies to meet legal requirements and new regulations in a prepared manner. At this stage, the main challenge in the field of labor security is the lack of knowledge and qualifications adapted to the needs of the country in the labor market. That is why the association has planned intensive trainings from August 26 according to the accredited labor safety specialist program, which will be conducted by the accredited trainers of the International Labor Organization and the British Higher Certification Institute NEBOSH with many years of experience," - Executive Director of the Georgian Employers' Association Lasha Labadze. The issue is very relevant for the private sector, since the organic labor safety law will come into force on September 1, 2019, which will apply to all organizations engaged in economic activities. The law, along with various obligations, requires organizations to have an accredited labor safety specialist, who will be certified according to the order of the Minister of Labor, Health and Social Protection No. 01-25/N. At this stage, the Association of Georgian Employers has trained more than 500 labor safety specialists and issued a certificate accredited by the state.
