Meeting on topical issues of labor law

A meeting was held for the representatives of the labor safety contractor companies in connection with the current issues of labor law in the Association of Georgian Employers. The purpose of the meeting was that the contractor companies of the Association of Georgian Employers were prepared to meet the process of inspection of labor rights by the Labor Inspectorate. The issue is relevant, because from January 1, 2021, the Labor Inspection monitors not only compliance with the requirements of the Labor Safety Law, but also the protection of labor rights established by the Labor Code. This implies a complete research of the legal documents in the company, a physical interview with any employees and a check of the working conditions. If a violation is detected, the labor inspectorate is authorized to issue instructions, impose fines, or, in case of a serious violation, to suspend the company's activities. Within the framework of the said meeting, discuss the following issues: New legal regulations of labor law; Practices introduced by the Labor Inspectorate; · Challenges in court in relation to labor disputes; Sharing the experience of the Association of Georgian Employers. The meeting will be chaired by the head of the legal department of the Association of Georgian Employers Nikoloz Abutidze and lawyer Ana Devdariani.
