The members of the GEA got acquainted with the requirements related to industrial waste management

Business Union “Georgian Employers’ Association” held a remote meeting on waste management for member companies.

The discussion addressed two main issues:

  • Waste management strategy and requirements in accordance with the legislation of Georgia;
  • Establishment of an extended producer liability organization and its role.

The meeting was chaired by Mrs. Khatuna Akhalaia, an expert on environmental issues of the Georgian Employers’ Association.

The meeting was attended by Mrs. Irma Gurguliani, Deputy Minister of Environment and Waste and Chemicals Management of Georgia, with whom the attending companies received comprehensive answers on the requirements set by the state in a question-and-answer mode.
