Accredited training course for occupational safety specialists

About the Accredited Occupational Safety Specialist Program:

The Georgian Employers’ Association is an organization in Georgia that has developed a training program for labor safety specialists in accordance with the requirements of the Law on Occupational Safety and has been accredited by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs. It should be noted that the scope of the program, the rules and conditions of implementation are defined by the administrative-legal act of the Minister of Health.

According to the Law on Occupational Safety, companies that are on the list of high-risk, heavy, harmful and dangerous work are obliged to have passed the accredited program of the occupational safety specialist employed there and have the relevant certificate. And from September 1, 2019, this issue becomes mandatory for any business operator.

The courses in the Employers’ Association will be held systematically and the occupational safety specialists interested in certification will have the opportunity to pass the program.

Program Objective:

Training of a occupational safety specialist in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Georgia on Occupational Safety, development of the necessary competencies in the organization for effective occupational safety and health management.

Program Learning Outcomes:

• At the end of the program, the listener:
• Has special knowledge in the field of occupational safety;
• Familiar with national and international legislation in the field of occupational safety;
• Can assess the health and safety hazards and risks associated with the employee and other person in the workplace;
• Can ensure the registration, investigation and reporting of accidents and occupational diseases in the workplace in accordance with the legislation of Georgia.

Prerequisite for admission to the program:

The listener of the program can be a person with at least 18 years of education.

The program is designed for:

For companies health and occupational safety managers, engineers, other persons responsible for occupational safety.

• Introduction to Occupational Safety Management;
• Organic Law of Georgia on Wors Safety;
• Threat identification, risk assessment and management, control measures according to internationally recognized standards;
• Workplace accident and incident investigation – accounting, registration, reporting;
• Occupational diseases – classification, registration and control of occupational and occupational diseases;
• Electrical and fire safety;
• First aid;
• Classification of chemicals and safety rules;
• Hygienic requirements for the microclimate of industrial premises;
• Individual and collective protection measures;
• Occupational hygiene: chemical, physical, biological and psychosocial factors;
• Work at heights;
• National Legislation and International Occupational Safety Standards;
• Labor safety in the construction sector;
• Labor safety in the mining industry and / or in the heavy processing industry;
• Labor safety in light industry;
• Occupational safety in the service sector;
• Occupational safety in the medical field;

The program is three and a half months, including theoretical and practical training.

1770 GEL including VAT for legal entities

For individuals – 1500 GEL

Upon completion of the relevant testing, participants will be awarded an accredited Occupational Safety Specialist Certificate.
