The Association of Employers of Georgia held a presentation of the results of the project - development of a non-formal educational program in the format of work-based training within the framework of the small grant project of the Millennium Challenge Fund "Professional Education for Economic Development".
The project is funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
The participants of the presentation were welcomed by Ketevan Natriashvili, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Sonia Sharigiani, Deputy Director of the Georgian Representative Office of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, David Handle, Head of the "Professional Education for Economic Development" project and Elguja Meladze, President of the Georgian Employers' Association.
The main goal of the project was to create a best practice precedent for the main challenge of the labor market - improving the level of professional and technical training.
As a result of the activities carried out by the "Georgian Employers' Association", based on the mutual cooperation of regional and Tbilisi enterprises, young people were employed on the principle of "on-the-job training" in the association's member companies.
The purpose of the meeting was to share the best example among the member companies of the association in order to increase the involvement of the business sector in similar activities.
