2017-06-01
Finished
Organized by the Georgian Employers' Association (GEA), the business unions operating in Georgia discussed the labor safety bill in working mode.
The meeting was attended by experts and leaders from the following business associations: Georgian Employers Association (GEA), Georgian Manufacturers Federation, Small and Medium Enterprises Association (GSMEA), Business Association of Georgia (BAG), American Chamber of Commerce and KAR.GE movement.
It can be said that a discussion with a similar format and scale is unprecedented and aims to establish the most acceptable legal base for the business sector in order to easily implement changes in the direction of improving labor safety conditions.
In the working mode, each business association presented its own vision and reasoned remarks about the draft law. The mentioned opinions will be processed and they will be lobbied during the process of approval of the draft law in the Parliament in order to reflect the interests of business in the new labor safety law as much as possible. The meeting turned out to be particularly fruitful, so much so that each business association had prepared its own remarks in advance, and as a result of the group discussion, unified opinions were formed.
It should be noted that the discussion of the draft law will begin in the coming weeks in the Parliament.
