Workshops for labor inspectors were held at the employers' association

On June 12-13, 2017, a seminar on labor inspection policy planning issues was held for labor inspectors, organized by the "Georgian Employers' Association" and the International Labor Organization (ILO) and with the support of the European Union.
The seminar, which was presented with welcome speeches by ILO Senior Technical Adviser Zholt Dudash and a representative of the Ministry of Health, was led by Valentin Mokanu, Specialist of Labor Administration, Labor Inspection and Workplace Safety and Health Protection (ILO).
Labor inspectors heard the following topics at the seminar:
• Labor inspection policy development (general policy context; some principles of effective inspection); • 'Sanctions' and 'enforcement' approaches' • Information and advice provision; • Proactive (preventive) inspection • Reactive inspection - accidents, illness and complaints • Inspection frequency and priorities • Inspection consistency and discretionary rights • Operational planning - its importance and individual work programs; • Labor inspection activity control and reporting.
The teaching process was loaded with discussions and exercises.
It should be noted that the Association of Georgian Employers actively cooperates with the Labor Inspection since its re-establishment (2015).
