Since 2016, the Georgian Employers' Association business union has been implementing a vocational education and training project with the support of the German government, within the framework of which a study of the need for personnel in member companies was conducted and, at the same time, a number of activities were carried out in the direction of popularizing vocational education.
As a result of the evaluation of the progress of the project, the association started working on the development of a package of services to be provided to small and medium-sized companies to promote the strengthening of the human resources management policy.
The main basis of the initiative to develop services for small and medium-sized companies is the acuteness of such issues seen during the course of the project, such as:
• existence of properly qualified human resources for the development of small and medium production and the problem of finding them for this purpose;
• Adaptation and development of the relevant personnel policy to new technologies and innovative approaches;
• To interest young citizens in their entrepreneurial activities and to attract them for development;
• Improving and perfecting personnel policy efficiently and with lower costs.
In addition to the above-mentioned problems, the existing problems associated with the human resource management policy of small and medium enterprises are also:
• Providing proper working conditions for employees for their health and life safety;
• compliance of the relations established within the enterprise with the legal norms of labor;
• Ensuring timely reporting of financial, environmental, or other requirements with state bodies;
• Production of an effective public relations policy with the internal and external parties of the enterprise and adapted to the promotion of their activities.
Based on the diversity of the problems listed above, it is clear that it is impossible to deal with the challenges with the efforts of the Association of Employers of Georgia alone, therefore the association invited interested parties.
