In the Association of Georgian Employers, the private sector discussed the labor safety law.
The purpose of the meeting was to determine the position of the business sector on the expected consequences that can be caused by the entry into force of the bill on labor safety in its current form.
The representatives of the private sector agreed as a result of the discussion that the implementation of the draft law will cause serious problems in enterprises, especially in small and medium-sized companies. It is considered as an aggravating fact of the current situation that the spirit of the draft law is to carry out punitive measures and not to establish a preemptive policy.
At the meeting, the risks of the growth of corruption, which will lead to state intervention in the company's activities without the court's permission, were also identified as an important expected problem.
The conversation also touched on the area of spreading the law. The business believes that there should be a law on more hazardous jobs because the goal is achievable.
He noted that it was necessary to define the structure of law enforcement by providing outsourcing services, and not by creating additional spending institutions in the structure of state officials and the home government.
In addition, the approach indicated in the explanatory note of the draft law is completely unacceptable, that the law should lead to filling the budget at the expense of penalizing entrepreneurs.
About 50 company representatives and International Labor Organization expert Vlado Churovich attended the meeting held for the consideration of the draft law.
The Association of Georgian Employers, as a representative of the business sector in the format of a tripartite social partnership, systematically works in the direction of labor safety in the process of ongoing changes in the direction of recognizing the interests of the private sector.
