The business union - in the Association of Georgian Employers, the private sector discussed the list of heavy, harmful and dangerous work with increased risk, which the government should approve. In particular, according to the requirements of Article 2 of the new labor safety law, within 3 months after the law comes into force, the government of Georgia must approve the list of heavy, harmful and dangerous jobs with increased risk in agreement with business and trade unions.
It should be noted that the new labor safety law will only apply to the areas specified in this list.
The private sector cites the fact that it includes business sectors when specific job positions should be defined by law as the main shortcoming of the proposed list.
At the same time, the business sector believes that at this stage, the absence of regulated and standardized labor safety norms makes it unclear what should be the basis of the inspection by the state.
"According to today's circumstances, it turns out that different agencies have almost identical powers to control the same field. Thus, in the future, a situation can be seen that several controlling bodies will be able to make a decision on fines and even suspensions on one issue", - states Misha Kordzakhia, vice-president of the Association of Georgian Employers.
These are the main gaps that the business sector is considering at this stage.
The meeting attended by company representatives was held in the conference hall of the Association of Georgian Employers.
