A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Association of Georgian Employers and the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Craftsmen, the purpose of which is to deepen the bilateral economic relations between Georgia and Lithuania.
Giedrius Puojunas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, attended the ceremony of signing the memorandum and noted that he is satisfied with such a beginning of deepening business ties between the countries. "I am glad that Lithuania will share its experience with Georgia, especially in terms of the development of small and medium entrepreneurship. We will implement joint events with the Association of Georgian Employers and other business circles, which will increase bilateral economic relations," the ambassador said.
According to the assessment of the parties, the trade balance between the countries is not satisfactory, and it is planned to implement joint measures to achieve better results. "We will create a so-called business bridge between Lithuanian and Georgian entrepreneurs and share the experience that this country has undergone during the period of association with the European Union. It is also important that we try as much as possible to interest Lithuanian investors in the business-investment climate that exists in our country," said the president of the Association of Georgian Employers, Elguja Meladze.
The official delegation of the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Craftsmen under the leadership of President Sigitas Lonavichus is on a 5-day business visit to Georgia and is hosted by the Employers' Association.
