Organized by the Association of Georgian Employers and its partner German organization BWMV e.V. (SEQUA), the national conference - "Professional Education and Partnership Project: Vocational Orientation and Technical Vocational Education and Training - Results and continuation perspective in response to the needs of the labor market" - was opened.
The conference, which will be attended by employers' association member companies, ministries, local and international organizations, the German embassy, trade unions, business associations, schools, vocational colleges, the non-governmental sector and other interested parties, was opened by the president of the employers' association Elguja Meladze, the head of trade unions Irakli Petriashvili and the Georgian Education , the head of the Department of Professional Education Development of the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sports, Irina Tserodze.
"The conference aims to evaluate the results achieved by the vocational education and training project and introduce the future goals to the interested parties. In particular, what are the results achieved by the project, which is aimed at the activation of cooperation between vocational schools and the business sector through the introduction of dual education. The main cause of problems in the labor market is the lack of prestige of professional education. The involvement of companies at this stage is still unsatisfactory, although the trend is positive. There is still a lot of work to do to make business interested in the introduction of professional dual education in enterprises", - states the president of the employers' association, Elguja Meladze.
