Labor safety specialists were awarded certificates accredited by the state

About 80 participants completed the training course within the accredited training program for labor safety specialist in the Business Union - Georgian Employers' Association. Before obtaining the certificate, novice and active labor safety specialists have passed a 130-hour theoretical and practical course and passed the certification exam. The labor safety specialist training program implemented by the employers' association fully meets, on the one hand, the requirements of the labor safety law, and on the other hand, the challenges in this field at workplaces. The Association of Employers of Georgia has been implementing this program since December 2018 and has more than 400 specialists certified by this stage. It should be noted that from September 1, 2019, the labor safety law applies to all areas of economic activity, and labor inspectors will be able to inspect facilities without prior permission at any time of the day or night. In addition, the business sector will be obliged to have a labor safety specialist at the workplace who has completed the above-mentioned accredited program and holds a certificate (order No. 01-25/n of the Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection from the Occupied Territories of Georgia). Employers' Association will renew the accredited training courses for labor safety specialists from August 26, 2019. Any interested person over the age of 18 can register for the new course and train as a labor safety specialist.
