From September 1, 2019, the private sector will face a new challenge due to the requirements of the Labor Safety Law.
The mentioned law obliges all types of organizations to have a certified labor safety specialist, who will have passed the training program defined by the order of the Minister of IDPs from the occupied territories of Georgia, Labor, Health and Social Protection No. 01-25/N.
"Employers' Association is prepared to meet such an urgent demand from the business sector, which is related to the issue of training and certification of labor safety specialists. At this stage, there is a lot of interest in the accredited occupational safety specialist program, both from active occupational safety specialists and from individuals wishing to master this profession. The business sector is very active and at this stage we have more than 120 students and we will host new groups in the near future, as the queue of people wishing to register for the course does not stop. Our partner International Labor Organization (ILO) helps us to conduct the training process in a highly qualified manner," - Executive Director of the Association of Georgian Employers Lasha Labadze.
The Association of Firefighters of Georgia started implementing the accredited labor safety program in December 2018 and has already trained more than 500 specialists. The training lasts 130 hours and includes both theoretical and practical modules led by trainers accredited by the International Labor Organization and the British Higher Certification Institute NEBOSH with many years of experience.
