A discussion on labor issues was held between social partners - representatives of the Association of Georgian Employers and the Union of Trade Unions.
At the beginning of the meeting, the parties introduced to the participants of the meeting the list of the issues of the Labor Code, on which the trade unions and the employers' association agree. The discussion, the purpose of which was to bring the positions closer and reach a concrete agreement, continued in the question-and-answer mode. At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue bilateral work on the issues that could not be agreed upon.
"There was a prospect of coming to an agreement on many issues in the future. Working groups have been established in relation to issues such as settlement of labor disputes and creation of effective mechanisms, minimum wage and internship issues. These are the topics on which it was not possible to reach an agreement, but both sides are ready to continue the discussion and reach a concrete agreement," - Shalva Tshkakaia, head of the legal committee of the Association of Georgian Employers.
The meeting was attended by the member companies of the employers' association and the representatives of sectoral trade unions.
