Business union - member companies of the Association of Georgian Employers met the head of the Labor Inspection Service, Beka Feradze, at the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metekhi Palace Hotel.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform the business sector about current issues related to labor safety and labor rights inspection. The issue is critically important for the business sector, since according to the updated labor legislation, the labor inspectorate has a full mandate to supervise such sensitive issues as direct and indirect discrimination, sexual harassment, forced labor, labor exploitation, etc. In the mentioned direction, activated monitoring is a novelty for the private sector, and also poses challenges related to financial and human resources.
The meeting was attended by representatives of more than 70 companies, who had the opportunity to discuss issues important to them from competent question-and-answer persons.
The event was chaired by the executive director of the Association of Georgian Employers, Lasha Labadze.
Similar meetings are systematically held by the Georgian Employers' Association together with social partners in order, on the one hand, to raise awareness in the business sector about labor relations and labor safety issues, to protect the rights of the employee, and on the other hand, to respond to existing challenges and companies to meet the inspection process as well as possible.
