Organized by the Association of Employers of Georgia, the business sector met with the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Food Agency to get acquainted with the news planned by the state structure.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform the interested companies about the changes planned in the current rule of food labeling (Decree #301 of the Government of Georgia). The mentioned changes will enter into force from September 1 of this year, after which entrepreneurs will be obliged to put on the label comprehensive information about the composition of the product, nutritional value and storage conditions.
The business sector calls the government's Resolution 301 untimely and believes that the rights of both consumers and entrepreneurs will be protected.
Taking into account the scale of the topic and all the nuances that business operators will have to deal with after the implementation of the law, sector meetings with the representatives of the National Food Agency will be held in the near future in the Association of Georgian Employers.
The meeting, which was attended by about 70 company representatives, was opened by the Executive Director of the Georgian Employers' Association, Lasha Labadze, and the Head of the Quality Management and Recognition Division of the Food Safety Department, Kakha Sokhadze.
The event was held in the conference hall of the Association of Georgian Employers.
