On October 5, at the Sheraton Grand Metekhi Palace Hotel, the Georgian Employers' Association and the International Labor Organization (ILO) held a presentation of a policy document and an action plan based on the results of the study "Enabling Environment for Sustainable Development of Enterprises" (EESE).
The purpose of the research was to identify the main problems and challenges that appear to be the most impeding factors for the development of small and medium-sized companies. The results showed that one of the challenges for the private sector, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, is access to finance, which is largely due to the scarcity of financial and human capital, the low rate of use of financial resources, and others.
"Based on the results of the research, the Employers' Association together with the International Labor Organization (ILO) developed a policy document and a corresponding action plan, which considers the emergence of tools for the private sector to overcome this challenge. In order to form the documents in a full-fledged form, it is important to familiarize the private sector, state structures and other interested parties with the action plan and receive appropriate feedback from them, on the basis of which the next steps of the association to support companies will be planned" - Executive Director of the Association of Georgian Employers Lasha Labadze.
Representatives of the private sector, state structures, international experts and other interested parties took part in the meeting.
