In order to provide information to the business sector about the changes made in the direction of labor rights and safety and the violations identified in 2021, Beka Peradze, the head of the Labor Inspection Service, met with the member companies of the Association of Georgian Employers.
Within the framework of the meeting, special emphasis was placed on two new regulations, which will come into force on January 1, 2023. In particular, the minimum requirements for safety and health in the workplace and the rules for placing signs.
The new regulation regulates such issues as:
Durability and structural strength of buildings
fire safety
Evacuation routes and exits
Hazardous areas
Escalators and moving walkways as well as loading docks and ramp issues
The parameters of the closed workspace are also defined, including: microclimate, lighting, ventilation.
Minimum requirements for employees with disabilities and pregnant women.
The meeting, which was attended by more than 80 companies, was held in question-and-answer mode.
