Meeting regarding the list of industries with specific working mode

On February 3, a meeting was held in the Employers' Association of Georgia between the representatives of the business sector, government agencies and the union of professional unions regarding the list of industries with a specific work regime.
On December 26, 2022, a list of industries with a specific working regime was approved, within which, according to Article 14 of the Labor Code, a different regime of standard working hours of the week applies to those enterprises of the industries approved by the decree, where the labor process of production provides for a continuous regime lasting more than 8 hours. The standard working time of the week for the enterprises of the fields is 48 hours, not 40 hours per week.
Deputy Minister of Health Tamila Barkalaya, Business Ombudsman Otar Danelia, Chief Labor Inspector Beka Peradze, Chairman of the Union of Professional Unions of Georgia Irakli Pertiashvili and the business sector participated in the meeting.
Within the framework of the meeting, the business sector received information about the processes of determining the sectors approved by the resolution, grace periods and enforcement mechanisms and other issues related to the topic.
