On March 28, the joint event "Partnership for Skills Development" was held by the Association of Georgian Employers and the Professional Skills Agency.
As you know, vocational education in Georgia faces many challenges, such as the incompatibility of educational programs with the current and future requirements of the labor market, the training of teachers in the field of vocational education, the insufficient level of involvement of the private sector, etc.
The current situation makes professional education less attractive, especially among young people, which in turn hinders the development of the business sector, and to a large extent small and medium entrepreneurship.
In connection with this, within the framework of the meeting, the Skills Agency prepared a presentation on the following issues:
· Work-based learning and its forms;
· Vocational training/retraining programs.
As a result, the business sector received information about the opportunities offered by the professional agency and the employers' association to eliminate the problem of the shortage of qualified personnel.
Elguja Meladze, the President of the Association of Georgian Employers, and Tamar Kitiashvili, the General Director of the Professional Skills Agency, addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcome speech.
The representatives of the member companies of the employers' association attended the meeting.
