On November 2, a meeting was held between representatives of the business sector and the chairman of the National Competition Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze, organized by the Association of Georgian Employers. The participants of the meeting received information from the agency about the reforms implemented in the direction of the competition policy, the obtained results and future plans; Mechanisms for protection of consumer rights, current trends and challenges were also discussed. "In the direction of consumer rights protection, the compliance is quite high, as well as the involvement of the trade sector and the readiness to bring the existing deficiencies, which are fixed, into compliance with the law. Competition law enforcement has been strengthened. The agency has already published the results of the fuel market research. In the near future, we will make public the results of the monitoring of the market for the sale of insurance products in banking institutions, which we believe will have a positive effect on the planned reforms. Also, the results of research on the pharmaceutical market will be completed by the end of the year.
