On February 24, in the framework of the "Professional Education and Training Project", a workshop was held at the Association of Georgian Employers on the topic - cooperation market - demand/supply, which was led by invited experts from Germany.
The mentioned project, which is financed by the German government, has been going on for a year in Georgia, and the business sector, secondary schools and vocational schools are involved in it. And the coordination of the mentioned parties is ensured by the Association of Georgian Employers.
The workshop was attended by participants from the following companies - Mina, Goodwill, Marche, Dio and vocational schools - Ikarus, Panacea, Georgia and Agari School-College. It should be noted that all the above-mentioned companies and educational institutions are involved in the process of dual education. At the workshop, HR managers of the listed companies, representatives of vocational schools and general education schools together with German experts reviewed the problems and challenges that exist in the process of introducing dual education in the context of both schools and the business sector. The following issues were identified as the main challenges and problematic aspects:
• There are no specialists in the enterprises who possess teaching methods, pedagogy and didactics;
• direct supervisors who are responsible for teaching the student at the workplace do not have teaching experience;
• Communication and coordinated work between the business sector and educational institutions is weak;
• There are not enough practical classes in schools;
• Marketing of vocational education provision in Georgia is weak.
In addition to the discussion of the mentioned issues, German experts conducted seminars for the participants on the following topics:
• "Primary medical aid and labor safety at the workplace" • "Effective marketing in vocational education and general education schools"
