The business sector met with the Minister of Agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili met the representatives of the business sector within the framework of the "Business Dialogue with the Government" project of the Association of Georgian Employers.
At the meeting, the minister provided the representatives of the business sector with detailed information about the reforms implemented by the ministry, current and planned projects.
Levan Davitashvili presented the vision of the development of the agricultural sector for 2017, which includes 5 main directions. these are:
• Development of primary agricultural production/increasing efficiency; • Development of post-harvest technologies - expansion and modernization of storage and processing infrastructure; • Introduction of food safety and security systems and modern standards; • Raising farmers' competencies and competitiveness; • Diversification of export markets - promotion of access to new markets;
The participants of the meeting discussed the mentioned issues in detail and discussed the events planned in this direction.
Shekhverdra was attended by the heads of the Ministry of Agriculture and agencies included in its system and representatives of about 80 companies operating in Georgia.
At the meeting, a dialogue was held between government representatives and the business sector, where problematic issues in the private sector were discussed.
The business association "Georgian Employers' Association" supports the improvement of communication between private and state structures with the project "Business dialogue with the government".
