An international conference - "Experience in Vocational Education" was held at the Association of Employers of Georgia, the purpose of which was for the participating parties to discuss the strengthening of the role of employers' organizations in the field of vocational education and social partnership, as well as to share regional and international experience in the context of presenting and reviewing the current results of the vocational education and training project.
Among the issues discussed were such priority topics as the role of vocational education in promoting employment, vocational education policy, increasing the participation of the private sector, employers to promote vocational education and business development, and others.
An important part of the conference was the signing of a memorandum between social partners (Georgian Employers' Association, Georgian Trade Unions, Association of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs, Federation of Georgian Manufacturers, German Economic Association in Georgia) for the promotion of small and medium-sized businesses in the field of professional education, the purpose of which is to support the SME sector in the field of education and employment. Mutual cooperation on coordinated provision of uniform and specific services of the parties.
Along with the representatives of six countries, the partners of the vocational education and training project - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Germany - participated in the conference. Regional and international partners - Kazakhstan, Latvia, Ukraine; German Embassy, German-Georgian Educational Society, as well as Georgian trade unions, vocational schools, sector associations and chambers of commerce.
The conference was opened by the President of the Association of Georgian Employers, Elguja Meladze, and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Ketevan Natriashvili.
